The Smoky Mountains are home to plenty of outdoor activities to enjoy throughout the winter months, including snow tubing! Unlikely skiing or snowboarding, snow tubing requires no skill and is a blast for all ages! This is an exciting opportunity to race your friends and family downhill among the backdrop of some amazing winter scenery! Here are 3 fun places to go snow tubing in Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge:

1. Rowdy Bear’s Smoky Mountain Snowpark

One of the top places to go snow tubing in the Smoky Mountains is Rowdy Bear’s Smoky Mountain Snowpark! This is where you’ll find the largest outdoor tubing hill in Tennessee, so you’ll definitely want to put this location on your winter vacation itinerary! The tubing lanes are over 500 feet in length with a 70 foot drop, and two Magic Carpet conveyors to the top make it easy for you to ride again and again! The tubing sessions are each 90 minutes long and run daily. Rowdy Bear’s Smoky Mountain Snowpark is situated diagonally across from the Titanic Museum on the Parkway and is right beside the Local Goat restaurant.

Another one of the fun places to go snow tubing in Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge is Ober Mountain. This is one of the most popular snow tubing destinations in the Smokies and features a tubing hill that is 350 feet long with a 50 foot total drop! A “Magic Carpet”, which is basically an outdoor escalator, takes you back to the hill after each run so that you don’t have to worry about any climbing! Snow tubing sessions are 90 minutes each and often sell out on weekends and holiday periods, so be sure to book early to avoid disappointment! Ober Mountain can be accessed by taking the Aerial Tramway from downtown Gatlinburg or by driving up Ski Mountain Road.

3. Pigeon Forge Snow

Want to enjoy tubing without the cold weather? Pigeon Forge Snow offers an excellent alternative for those folks who love snow tubing, but are not a fan of cold temperatures! This is because this snow tubing facility is located completely indoors where the temperature is always between 60 and 70 degrees! Pigeon Forge Snow uses a unique patented process to make snow just as nature makes it, except they make it every day of the year! There are no reservations or specific start times required, so just show up when you are ready to go snow tubing and purchase your one hour session! Pigeon Forge Snow is located on Teaster Lane in Pigeon Forge.
