One of the many benefits of staying at our campground is the close proximity to Gatlinburg. If you are enjoying camping with us and need some extra activities that the whole family will enjoy, there are endless options not far away. Here are 4 of the best family activities in Gatlinburg:
Named the best aquarium in North America in 2019 by USA Today, Ripley’s Aquarium is a great attraction for the whole family. One of the best things about the aquarium is the amount of interactive exhibits for your kids to enjoy. Two of the most popular exhibits include Stingray Bay and Penguin Playhouse. At the Stingray Bay exhibit, children are able to step up around a pool of rays while they hear all about the magnificent creatures. They are also allowed to reach inside the pool and pet a ray! Inside the Penguin Playhouse, kids are able to crawl through a special tunnel that will give them a panoramic view of the penguins’ habitat.
Located just a short distance from our campground is one of Gatlinburg’s most popular museums for children. Ripley’s Believe It Or Not is one of the best family activities in Gatlinburg. This museum offers a great way for children to learn about some amazing facts and history while also having a great time! Throughout the museum you will encounter incredible art, oddities, interactive games, and mind-blowing history.
Are you looking for a fun attraction that still encompasses the amazing views of the Smoky Mountains? If so, then the Gatlinburg Mountain Coaster might be just the thing for you. The coaster takes you straight through the mountains on a joy ride you will never forget. One of the great benefits of the coaster is the ability to ride in either a single cart or one of the double family carts. This makes it nice for families because the younger kids are still able to enjoy the ride as well. The mountain coaster is great for all times of the year, but is especially popular in the fall when the leaves on the trees are changing colors.
If you have kids that are in different age groups or are trying to find something to do that has a variety of activities, Gatlin’s Fun Center is the place to go! With multiple activities to choose from, Gatlin’s has something for everyone in the group without having to make different stops. Just a few of the things that are available include mini golf, laser tag, bumper cars, and a ropes course! No matter what the age of the child or adult, you can find something to entertain every member of the family.
