This is also the perfect time to stay at our campground and enjoy all of the amenities that we have to offer, all while being close to Great Smoky Mountains National Park, Dollywood, and other popular fall destinations! Here are 5 fun fall activities at our campground in the Smoky Mountains:
1. Leaf Peeping
You won’t need to go anywhere to experience the majestic orange, yellow, and red colors of fall foliage while staying at our campground in the Smoky Mountains. Our beautiful campground is surrounded by mountains and the Little Pigeon River, creating a magical atmosphere for our lucky guests! Take a stroll through our campground, walk along the banks of the river, or even rent a golf cart to explore our property, soaking in the spectacular views from every angle.
2. Outdoor Recreational Opportunities
Autumn weather in the Smoky Mountains is ideal for outdoor activities, so take advantage of the many recreational opportunities at our campground! We offer volleyball, basketball, badminton, bocce ball, cornhole, ping pong, and horseshoes, as well as a playground for the kids. While it might be too cool for swimming, you can enjoy fishing in the Little Pigeon River on a crisp fall day! Raining? No worries, as you can head to our game room to play free arcade games!
3. Evening Campfire Activities
While a campfire is a fun experience at our Smoky Mountain campground during any time of the year, the fall is especially ideal with crisp evening temperatures! Gather your family and friends around the warmth of the fire to make s’mores, swap stories, and make plans for another day of adventure in the Smokies. Each of our campsites has its own fire ring, as well as a picnic table where you can set up all of your supplies for making those delicious s’mores.
4. Stargazing
Another one of the fun fall activities at our campground in the Smoky Mountains is stargazing! The clearer autumn skies and earlier nightfall make it the ideal time to view the stars, and there is no light pollution in the area to impact your stargazing. While looking at the night sky, you can map constellations using mobile apps, track the International Space Station, or even use binoculars for an up-close view of the moon!
5. Go on a Nature Scavenger Hunt with the Kids
Keep the kids entertained with a nature scavenger hunt in the fall, where you can hike around our campground to find unique fallen leaves and acorns! Tell the kids to find simple items like a smooth rock or an orange leaf, and provide a bag to collect all of the items. Gather around your campsite at the end of the scavenger hunt to talk about what everyone discovered!
