While our campground is beautiful at any time of the year, the autumn is especially stunning with all of the spectacular fall foliage! The color changing season usually lasts several weeks, with the first leaves starting to change at the highest elevations of the Smokies. While the exact dates of the peak season are difficult to predict, you can generally count on seeing the best displays of foliage between mid-October and early November. Here are the top 4 reasons why our campground is the best place to see the fall colors in the Smoky Mountains:

1. Surrounded by Beauty

One of the top reasons why our campground is the best place to experience the fall colors in the Smoky Mountains is we are completely surrounded by beauty! When you want to see the gorgeous leaf colors, all you have to do is step outside of your tent or RV. The Greenbrier Campground has a unique location with diverse scenery, ranging from the woods and mountains to the Little Pigeon River that runs around our campground. Be sure to bring your camera to capture some of the incredible views of the autumn season in the Smokies!

2. Away from the Crowds

Since the fall colors in the Smoky Mountains are so magnificent, it is one of the most popular times of year to visit the region! Greenbrier Campground is away from the crowds of Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge so you can fully enjoy the fall foliage without any distractions. While our campground has plenty of campsites for tent camping and RV camping, you never have to worry about overcrowding!

3. Close to the Greenbrier Entrance of the National Park

Another reason why our campground is the best place to stay to see the fall colors in the Smoky Mountains is because we are close to the Greenbrier entrance of Great Smoky Mountains National Park! While some areas of the national park get busy with traffic during the fall foliage season, the Greenbrier area is considered “off the beaten path” and sees far fewer visitors, making it easy for you to enjoy some of the pleasant hiking trails in the park, including the Ramsey Cascades Trail that leads to a breathtaking waterfall!

4. Affordable Campground Rates

While many hotels, cabins, and other lodging areas may charge a hefty price during the fall foliage season, the Greenbrier Campground is pleased to offer affordable campground rates to our guests! Our tent camping rates are the same low rate all season long, while our RV campsites are only slightly higher on holiday weekends such as Memorial Day Weekend, Labor Day Weekend, Thanksgiving, and Christmas, meaning you can camp during the fall season at our low regular rates!
